Articles of Faith

1. THE WORD OF GOD

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

2. THE TRINITY

We believe that there is one living and true God, existing eternally as three Persons, equal in every respect: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

3. GOD THE FATHER

We believe in God the Father, an infinite personal spiritual Being, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. He actively involves Himself in and directs the affairs of mankind; He hears and answers prayers; and He saves from sin and spiritual death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

4. GOD THE SON

We believe in Jesus Christ, the Word of God in human form, God’s one and only Son, born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, performed miracles and taught us what to believe and how to live, He died that we might obtain forgiveness for our sins and He rose from the dead. He now dwells in heaven, praying for His people. He will return to earth as He promised.

5. GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in God the Holy Spirit. He convicts people of sin and seeks to make them new beings. He indwells all Christians to guide them, to help make them holy, and to give them power to become more and more like Jesus. He desires to impart His fullness to every believer and to the church.

6. REGENERATION

We believe that all people are sinners and are in a state of separation from their loving Creator. They have turned their backs on Him. We believe that those who turn from their sin and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior are made new men and women by the Holy Spirit.

7. THE CHURCH

We believe in the Universal Church to which all Christ’s people belong.

We believe also in the local church of which Christ is the Head. It consists of believers in Jesus Christ who have been baptized on profession of their faith and are associated for worship, fellowship and ministry.

8. CHRISTIAN CONDUCT

We believe that Christians should live for the glory of God and the well being of other people, and should strive to be blameless in conduct. Believers should be faithful stewards of the time, talents and posessions God has entrusted to them and should seek to encourage in themselves and others full maturity in Christ.

9. THE ORDINANCES

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism is the immersion of the believer in water, in the name of the triune God. It represents our participation through faith in Christ’s death and in His resurrected life. The Lord’s Supper is a commemoration of His death and an anticipation of eternal life.

10. THE PRIESTHOOD OF ALL BELIEVERS

We believe that every person can have a direct relationship with God and is responsible to God alone in all matters of faith. Furthermore, each believer is gifted of God to perform a spiritual ministry for Him.

11. RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

We believe that each local church is independent and competent under God and must be free from interference by any religious or state authority. The church and state are each to fulfill their duties free from dictation or patronage of the other.

12. LAST THINGS

We believe that when Christ returns, all people will be raised bodily. He will establish His Kingdom forever with His disciples. He will also judge unbelievers and Satan, the prince of evil, along with Satan’s demonic followers.
